Today, Nick had another chiropractic appointment (he does every day) and as soon as he left I got started in on some cleaning. I was in a great mood, ready to get a lot done. So Nick left about 9am and soon thereafter I started up Fidget (our Rumba) in our bedroom. I like to trap it in there so it only does the one room. Well, before I left the room I tried to grab Bailey and some other things and leave the rumba be. Since fidget was near the door and I didn’t want it to escape, I closed the door to our bedroom while still in it.
Flashback
Sunday, Nick and I got into an argument. Yes, we fight; we’re not always hearts and roses. Well, it led to me go to our room and slam the door shut. I know, not very mature. Well, the argument soon had to end when I realized that I had broken the knob. I could turn and lock the door and or turn the knob over and over but it would not open. So Nick had to come bail me out.
Back to Present Day
I closed our bedroom door all the way. I forgot!!! I It wasn’t until I had everything and grabbed the knob and it wouldn’t work that I remembered. Nick had just left for an unknown amount of time; I was guessing 2 to 2 ½ hours. My phone and computer where in the other room so there was no contacting anyone. Not that it would have helped. I couldn’t clean anything because I had just organized our room the day before and didn’t have any supplies to clean the bathroom. So I could read or watch TV. I settled for reading because I really wanted to be productive as I could be. It was quiet the claustrophobic feeling though. Had Nick not been coming home within a few hours I don’t know what I would have done. I really honestly would start to feel a bit panicky if I thought about being trapped. So I just read and took a nap.
Nick came home and figured out Bailey and I were stuck and came to bail us out. Except in my attempt to get out today, I kind of played with the knob a bit trying to jiggle it back into place; I broke it from the outside as well. I tell Nick to get the tools out and remove it. Nick says, “I can’t, there are no screws to remove it from this side”. Luckily there was just enough gab under the door to pass me the head of the screwdriver so get the knob off. Except that still didn’t work; we had to figure out how to get the little piece in the wall to retract into the door which took a minute. Bailey was all too excited and kept trying to jump up to see daddy through the hole.
So I was locked into our room today and was through off my schedule, Plus, now we have no knob until we figure out how to fix it. Hopefully I don’t forget I can’t close the door until then.
