Bailey and the Present

I might have had a bit to my fun or time on my hands with this...:)

It was the day before Christmas,
And all through the house,
All creatures were stirring,
Although there was no mouse.
Miss Bailey was running around, excited as can be
Because she knew there were presents under the tree.

She crept and tip-toed under to find
All shapes and sizes wrapped in twine.

She sniffed and sniffed and much to her delight
There was a round one with a fuzzy topped ball in white.
She grabbed it and turned to run
Only to find mommy who took away her fun.
She was a little bummed and a bit sad
So pity was took by her mom and her dad.
They grabbed a present from under the tree
And told her ‘have at it, be free’.
She pulled and she tugged the bight colored wrapping
All the while mom and dad were clapping.
And when she was done she sniffed at the book
And then gave mom and dad a look.
This gift was not for her to enjoy
But merely a time consuming ploy.
‘Your right Miss Bailey you’ll have to wait,
For tomorrow is the day with the special date,
Tonight Jolly St. Nick will visit you in your sleep
And then lots of fun presents will you reap.
