This morning, like always, I got up early to take care of Bailey while Nick slept in. I took some Sudafed for my sinus headache and sad down on the couch to catch up in the world. I’m assuming that the lack of food or water in my stomach for over eight hours is what did me in, because about ten minutes later, I had an extremely bad pain in my stomach. We had just returned to our home the night before after house-sitting for a week, so of course I had no bread in the house and that was the only thing that I could think of/sounded good. I went in, woke up Nick, and convinced him to go to the store for me.
He comes back with the good fresh deli kind (yum), serves me in bed, and then tells me he has a surprise for me in the Kitchen that I could have as well. I ask him what it is and his response was ‘a Fourth of July treat’. He then sheepishly told me it was a doughnut with red, white, and blue sprinkles and that he had gotten one for himself too. Ithink he wanted permission to eat his in front of me since obviously that was the last food item on my mind. So there you have it, when you feel sick to your stomach make sure you have fresh bread and doughnuts; followed by a two hour nap (I think it was the Sudafed).
