Disneyworld

Animal Kingdom

I don’t think I ever shared our trip to Disneyworld. As you know, Nick and I both love Disney, him Disneyworld and myself Disneyland. Seeing as I had never been to Disneyworld, he was all too excited to take me and show me ‘his turf’. There was an incentive at Nick’s work for awhile in conjunction with referreing an employee that lasted. Well, Nick did and was able to get two nights free stay at a hotel in downtown Disney. How amazing! He also already had a pass with park-hopper days on it so his tickets were taken care of. My parents found out about our trip and wanted us to be able to go and see it all (we were only going to do two parks) and helped out with my tickets. In addition, it was in mid-November so ‘Mickey’s Christmas Party’ was taking place a couple of nights a week, we splurged on that. Hey, it was our six month anniversary weekend, why not?

It was a great vacation. We started in the Animal Kingdom because Nick told me if I want to ride Everest we had to do it first before the line got long. It was amazing; so much better than the Matterhorn. It goes backwards! We also did the water raft ride and I got drenched from head to toe while Nick got splashed. Not fair. The safari ride was great. We got to see almost every animal up close; we were told that was really lucky.

Magic Kingdom
We then went to the Magic Kingdom and rode a few rides including the Haunted Mansion. Disneyworld’s so SMALL from the outside, but it looks like the one from the movie. Then that night was Mickey’s Christmas party; man was it worth the extra ticket. It was so crowded during the day we only fit in two rides. But there were only a few tickets for the party available so the park was empty; walk on to every ride. Bonus, we got as many cookies and cups of hot chocolate that we wanted (I think I downed six cups of hot chocolate), and watched the parade.

I like this castle more. It's bigger.

It was our six month anniversary and we
had the hats so we figured why not.
The next day we went to Epcot. It was the food and wine festival so it was extra busy. Nick made me go on his beloved Fidget ride. I warn you, that song gets stuck in your head so easily and now it’s a Wii commercial. Erggg… Soaring over California is in this park. The set up of Disneyland’s Magic Kingdom vs. Disneyworld’s is different and I kept telling Nick, ‘it’s like I’m at Disneyland but it’s not Disneyland. Well, the soaring ride still goes over Disneyland. I teared up the whole ride, when we got to Disneyland I full on was crying. It was involuntary but I guess I hadden’t realized how homesick I had been. I was so embarrassed getting off trying to hide the fact that I had cried on Soaring. Overall, I don’t know that I would bother going to Epcot again, not my favorite.

We then got to go to MGN Hollywood Studios. I love that it is basically the villains’ park. I should have taken more advantage of looking though the shops but I don’t really have a favorite villain and we were soooo tired at this point. Oh well. I got so nervous on the Tower of Terror; it’s a ride that already makes me nervous and the ride at Disneyworld the cart changes tracks to get to the tower and you never know how high you are going to go each time because it is very random. I like California where you all the way up, stop, take a picture, get to look around at California then fall.

Back to Magic Kingdom. I had my first turkey leg; man does that think make you feel like a ravenous carnivore. We finished our trip that night by getting ice cream (peppermint! Love Christmas time), watching the electrical parade and the Wishes fireworks show in front of the castle. It was magical :).

I am still a bigger fan of Disneyland because you can experience all the big rides in just one day. However, Disneyland has to turn over rides more to make room for new ones where Disneyworld has been able to keep older rides because they have the space. Nick and I decided that for the most part, which ever park got a ride second, did it better. So here is a list of a few rides that we experienced and which ones we thought were done better. Although he hasen't had the chance to ride all of Cailfornia's rides yet.
