Where to Begin Again

Where to start? How about the love of Nick’s and I’s life at the moment, Bailey! She is five months old now (feels like she should be older by now) and getting close to ten pounds. She is very smart and is progressing well. We love her tricks.

Week one: Sit and Shake

Week two: lay down

Week four: Roll over

Week six: Dance (stand on back legs and turn in a circle)

She is eatting the cord to the blinds which were broken. I just love the head tilt. When you just start talking to her she will tilt her head side to side as if to say, "I'm trying to understand you but I really have no clue what you are saying".

Now mom is working on the toy story move “Reach for the sky”, which will be followed by learning to play dead. I think it’s a great combo. Nick wants to teach her to pray with us and high five. She just loves treats and will pretty much do what it takes to get one in her mouth. If we even reach for the treat container she drops everything, sits, and starts trying to shake your hand. If you don’t start offering to shake back she will then lay down without being asked.

She was a Steeler's fan. I'm a good mommy, I make her ribbons for her collar. She also had a Valentines day ribbon and will have an Easter one. I will try to remember to get a picture.

Now we are mostly working on things like no barking when new people come around. It’s naturally in her to want to be protective but we want her to know that when we are just walking outside people are not going to hurt us. We are also working on voice control when off the lease. We have this great beach with a 40ish foot tide. She can be off the leash before ten a.m. and after five p.m. if she is under voice control. She has been doing very well with this but still needs some work. We are also working on socializing. Bailey does not seem to like other dogs (she tends to act like a cat or a human). Luckily the beach is a great place to make her deal with other dogs. Hopefully grandma and grandpa Leluika will come visit soon with their dog then we can force her to deal with one 24/7 for a little while.

As for us, Nick got a promotion at work. I am so proud of him. He works so hard I feel I don’t see him very much. The hotel is heading into its busiest time right now so I may see him even less. We shall see. He also loves that fact that he bought martineil’s just the other night and got carded for it.

I don't think I ever shared  a picture from when I turend 22

I am loving my new calling as the activities days leader. It gets a bit crazy and wild at times (note to self: recipe exchanges with 8-11 year olds means dessert bar and sugar - do the math). They are a great age though. They love all the activities you do and think that you are pretty cool. I try to make each of them feel special but they tend to make me feel it instead. I have also been very bust helping my friend Staci clean out her ENTIRE house, which then followed with a trip to Charleston to revamp her daughters’ wardrobes. Then we painted the whole downstairs while her husband was out of town. We still have more cleaning out to do but it’s towards the end. It has been decided that I should go into business organizing and cleaning out peoples’ homes because I love doing it. I even did it to my mother-in-law when we went to visit.

That’s it for now. Have a great night!
