In the morning, I’m making waffles!
I love waffles! I mean seriously love them. I was raised a Ludlow so I make them completely from scratch; none of that bisquick stuff. It's pretty much guaranteed that at least once a week, I'm in the kitchen beating up eggs to get them started. Usually a weekend treat but I love to freeze the leftovers then put them in the reheat them in a toaster for another day. However, I have this love hate relationship with my waffle iron. It's a beautiful piece of machinery that brings me goodness but how do you clean one of things? I'm serious. I have no clue how to really get it clean. I used to heat it up try to wipe it with a soapy paper towel then with just a wet paper towel. This tends to lead to a lot of burns and me not thinking that I'm getting all the soap or making a good difference. So I did what every girl newlywed would do, I called my mommy. Her response, 'I don't know. I don't clean mine'. Great, evidently I have been eating waffles from an unclean iron for years. But then I got to thinking how you never clean a cast iron pan. So is this like that? I just don't have to clean it and it will just keep adding to the favor? What do you all think? I'm kind of at a lost for the right move.
